Evgenia Peretz wrote a flattering piece in the Vanity Fair Culture and Celebrity Blog on my work in The Kreutzer Sonata after seeing it at the Edinburgh Film Festival.
Here's what she said:
"One of my first surprises was learning that Elisabeth Röhm has had a second act. You remember her. In the long line of Jack McCoy’s really hot partners on Law & Order, she was by far the most annoying—a humorless know-it-all whose delivery had all the charm of a Hillary Clinton stump speech. Well, color me a total jerk. In Bernard Rose’s Kreutzer Sonata, which also stars Danny Huston as her maniacally paranoid husband, Rohm is a revelation, playing a woman who’s both trophy wife and classical pianist—not an easy feat. One of her most compelling moments is when she breaks down shortly after the birth of her first baby. I’ve rarely seen an actress quite nail the toxic post-partum blend of exhaustion, confusion, guilt, and panic that life will never be enjoyable again."
Thanks Evgenia!
