And you did such an amazing job in Amber's Story, wow, I barely recognized you in that film.  We all can't wait to see more of your future projects and updates!!! Hopefully you can come back down to dragon con in Atlanta so I can meet you in person. Thanks!!!

Re: Greetings

I am a huge fan of ELRO. I have seen "Ghost Image" a number of times and it has become one of my favorite films. I can't wait until "The Spy and The Sparrow" and "The Kreutzer Sonata" are released. They sound really interesting.

I don't know who's running this sight, but it's kind of hard for me to believe it's actually ELRO since so many celebs have assistants and other minions running their websites.

But I think it's a great site. Very professional. I'll keep checking back and, hopefully, the forum will get busier as ELRO's films get out there and people see what she can do.

Re: Greetings

...well, I have to surprise you by saying this is actually me...I am very interested to hear why you love Ghost Image?  It was a very hard film to shoot as we had about three weeks  to make it.  Our call time to work was usually four in the afternoon and we would come home (to our hotels) at about six am.  Kinda brutal actually...but it was a great group of people and I am happy to hear that you like it!  I like thrillers anyway...the other movies you mentioned are very different...kreutzer is on demand right now and the spy movie is looking for distribution...so we'll see...thanks for your email!  and stay in touch!!!

Re: Greetings

I really liked "Ghost Image" mostly because it's an original idea -- a deceased loved one communicating through video. I don't think it's been done before. And I thought ELRO's performance was excellent, so different from Serena on "Law and Order."

Those fight scenes with that beefy guy looked really painful. I could never figure out why the heck Jennifer kept running into the parking structure where she was out in the open and trapped! Not a smart move for an intelligent girl.

And there was one morething about GI that I didn't understand. In the film, even before Wade died, everyone kept saying Jennifer had "been through a lot lately," but it was never made clear what that trauma was. It couldn't have been the loss of her family because that happened at least 15 years earlier. And wasn't the hallucinations of her sister because the restaurant, her "friend" Alicia says, "Ever since her family died, she thinks she sees her dead sister."

And in Jennifer's own flashback, Wade says something that alludes to a recent  problem. But it's never identified. What was it?

Anyway, thanks for answering my post.

BTW, how do you register with this forum so you're no longer a guest? It's this thing isn't exactly user-friendly. But the rest of the forum is great.

Thanks again.

Re: Greetings

If you go to the front page on the left hand side you'll see a spot to sign in if you're a member.  Right under this is a "Create an account" phrase that you can click on to create an account.  Once you find it it is easy to sign up.  I guess that would be my one suggestion for this great site, move the sign in and sign up to a more prominent place.

Re: Greetings

I'm so glad you liked Ghost Image...I don't know if we fully accomplished what we set out to do.  It was more of a psychological analysis from my point of view.  I think, as a film, it ended up being more of a thriller.  For me, the heart of the story was that my character had never been mentally 'right' since the death of her family.  She felt very guilty for their deaths in the car accident.  Because of that, she always suffered from haunting's of her sister.  Then she falls in love and begins to feel safe again in the world.  But, then he dies as well.  A very tormented person.  So, she never knows what is real and what she can count on.  And again, the cycle of her past guilt reflects on his death as well.  Does she think she killed him too?  Or is that her programming from her childhood?  In the end we discover that she has been framed by someone who knew of her frailties.  Poor Jennifer!  I'm really glad you liked it!  Thanks Wordswork!!

Re: Greetings

Well, I thought GI was a great effort. Your interpretation of the character makes sense. At first I thought some important details had been cut from the film...but I guess not.

In a way, the way Jennifer's from psychological turmoil from her past informed her present troubles reminded me of Jodie Foster's film, “Flightplan.” In that movie, Jodie’s character suffers a loss (her husband), then her daughter disappears during a transcontinental flight. For a while, we don’t know if the girl was ever really there, or if she hallucinated the whole thing as a side effect of the medication she’s taking.

I love films that use the characters’ psychological frailties to give nuances to what would otherwise be an average thriller. The film “Mirrors” with Keifer Sutherland is another recent film that handled those aspects well.

I have a question: will “Nerissa” and “Desire” ever be available in bookstores? I’d love to read them, but I don’t like buying electronic books.

Thanks!

Re: Greetings

Does anyone know if Lis will have any other projects making it to TV besides here role on 90210?  I know that Kreutzer's Sonata is showing on Independent Movie Network but I don't think my cable company carries it.  I'm going to have to wait until the DVD comes rolling out.

Re: Greetings

I posted this in the film forum, but the topic title was not showing up. So I'm reposting it here. I hope that's okay.

===============================

Dear Elisabeth,

I just watched The Kreutzer Sonata and I have to say that your character is the most interesting and complex characters I've ever seen you play.

This film presents a complicated view of marriage, fidelity and trust that I haven't seen a film come close to in a long time. And I say this having recently watched "Revolutionary Road."

I can't say that I enjoyed The Kreutzer Sonata overall -- mostly because I didn't care for Danny Huston's character or the non-linear narrative -- but the writer whose review you posted on this site was right: your performance was truly brave and athletic. Your skill might be a revelation to some, but not to me. I've always known -- or suspected -- you could had the chops to conquer a character like Abby and I'm glad others are finally going to see it, too.

I've worked with a lot of actors in theater and I've heard and read actors and others talking about being brave or fearless. Your performance in this film can, arguably, be pointed to as the definition of fearlessness. The rawness, the confrontational nature, the seductiveness of Abby...well, it's not all that surprising that a husband would lose his mind at the thought of losing her.

I have a question about the conversation between Edgar and Abby on the kitchen floor. Were the things Abby said about her parents improvised -- i.e., were they Elisabeth's musings on her own parents or were those lines actually in the script? From what I've read about you, the lines seem pretty close to descriptions of your own parents. I hope I'm not prying, but I am curious.

And how much of the film was improvised versus scripted?

I'd also be interested to learn what attracted you to the script.

In any case, well, done. I will definitely watch this film a few more times and probably buy it when it comes out on DVD on the strength of your performance.

Best,
WORDSWORK
